Owner & Operator
Brittany began her child care career with Thurmont Child Care when she was 16 years old. In 2021, her and her husband purchased this business. Before being the owner of Thurmont Child Care Inc. and TCC Preschool and School Age Programs Inc., she owned and operated a large family child care. She has associate degrees in Art in Teaching and Applied Science. In the first years of becoming owner, she built many partnerships and has dedicated her career to better the child care field and help families receive the best education possible for their children.
Brittany is married to a wonderful man who helps her run these programs. They have two beautiful children. Their son travels to many states to play baseball and their daughter keeps them on their toes with her horse back riding. When not at the baseball fields or the horse shows, they spend their family time at their camper that is located at the beach.

Ashlie Hitchcock

Ashlie started in child care as a parent in our programs. She instantly fell in love with the kids and became a substitute for Thurmont Child Care Inc. It didn't take long for her to want more and become certified to become our lead school age teacher. As time went on, she became certified in preschool and infant and toddlers too! Her dedication led her to her position as assistant director and now director. She has earned her associates degree of Arts Early Childhood Education. She is the one behind the scenes helping each day run smoothly.
Ashlie is married to a great man that supports her career and is there helping her with center events and all her crazy ideas at home. They have three amazing daughters. As they wait to see wait their youngest will keep them busy with, their oldest daughter keeps them cheering at the softball fields and their middle child keeps them at the barn with her horse. When they are not spending the free time participating in their daughters sports, they are enjoying family time at different camp grounds

Tia Cope
Miss. Tia
Tia has always had a passion to work with children. She had her own in-home child care before opening her own cleaning business. However, it didn't take her long to find her back back to the child care field. She began working at Thurmont Child Care Inc. and worked her way up as she demonstrated true leadership skills. She is certified in infant and toddler, preschool, and school age. She is now dedicated to running the program as the school age director with TCC Preschool and School Age Programs Inc.
Tia has a a heart of gold and it shows has she dedicates her time to helping everyone around her. She has three children who have followed in her footsteps of treating others with kindness. Her oldest daughter volunteers at our programs, loves to read and has a commitment to theater. Her middle daughter loves to be creative, cheer, and wrestle. Her youngest child, has a personality that keeps you smiling with his jokes. He loves to play football and wrestle. Believe it or not, Tia still has some free time in between running her kids to all their activities, and when those times occur you can find her enjoying the sunshine and taking adventures with her children.

Brittnee has worked in the child care field and private nannied for many years, enough for her to know she loves this profession enough to dedicate her time with us as director. She is certified in all age groups; school age, preschool, and infant and toddler. She started as a lead teacher with Thurmont Child Care Inc. but with her willingness to step in where needed and help others at all times, we knew she needed to be the core of one of our
programs she is at Thurmont Elementary School under our TCC Preschool and School Age Programs Inc.
Brittnee has a amazing little family with her fiance and daughter. You can found them at many local events enjoying time as a family. One thing about the three of them, they will always have a smile on their faces.

Madison Reed

Madison started with Thurmont Child Care Inc. when she was a senior in high school. Once she graduated she dedicated her time to become certified in all age groups; school age, preschool, and infant and toddler. As the years passed, her commitment to our programs grew and made assistant director at our center. As the director position opened at our Emmitsburg Elementary School location, we knew it was time for her to be the back bone of this program. She has shown true dedication to TCC Preschool and School Age Programs Inc.

Abigail Smead

Abigail is passionate about child care. She has worked with Thurmont Child Care Inc. for quite some time, and at other child cares before coming to our center. The love she has for the students is truly breathtaking. She gives it her all when deciding what is best for the students enrolled with us. She started as a lead teacher and became certified in all age groups; school age, preschool, and infant and toddler. As years passed, her knowledge and commitment to our center has lead her to be our assistant director.
Abigail has a wonderful husband and three amazing children.
She loves spending time with her kids outside and exploring local parks.

Danielle Harrington

Danielle has worked in the child care field for many years. She is certified in school age and preschool. She has a Associate of Arts in Teaching and a degree of Bachelors of Education Early Childhood Education.
Danielle has a wonderful boyfriend and a bonus son. They enjoy spending their weekends at the football fields or basketball courts. When not at the sports events, she loves trying new recipes and spending quality time with family.

Anastasia has worked in the child care field for many years while she helped her mother run her child care center. She is certified in school age and infant and toddler.
Anastasia has traveled a lot with her husband who has served our country with their three beautiful children. During her free time, she likes to play video games. She absolutely loves spending time with her family and trying different coffee.

Courtney began working in child care when she started her college journey. Since then she has completed her Associates of Applied Science and is continuing her college education at Western Governors University for a Bachelors of Arts, Elementary Education. Courtney loves to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys building lego structures and eating sushi.

Hailey has worked with children for many years by being a private nanny. She has helped run a summer camp through Parks and Recreation; as well as instructing horseback riding lessons for children ages three and up. She completed multiple child development and special education courses with early childhood trainings. She completed over sixty hours of observations through all levels at FCPS.
Hailey has a passion for horses and runs an equine boarding business. With her three horses, she competes in English and Western showing circuits.

Bonnie has a wonderful husband and three sons who have provided them with some amazing granddaughters. She loves to go to the beach, ride bikes, hike, and having dinner dates with her friends.

Brianna and her amazing husband recently moved back home after he served our country. The have two adorable sons who keep them busy. You can find Brianna and her family riding four-wheelers on their free time.

Samantha began working with children during a child development class. She was pursuing a career in speech pathology, but has learned she loves being in child care.

Bralyn began helping in our programs during the Covid pandemic. Between her online coursework in sixth grade, she would help teachers prep materials. She began as a volunteer and climbed the ladder to assistant teacher.
Bralyn has played softball since t-ball. With her success in the game, she accepted a offer from JMU. When she is not playing softball, she is traveling to the beach with her large family.

Cheyenne helped her mother for several years with her home daycare before caring for children independently. Then, years later, she became a resident substitute for FCPS. She has graduated from Shenandoah University with a business degree.
Cheyenne loves being outside and staying active. She played collegiate volleyball for four years. She loves the color yellow and Mexican food.

Julie started working with children many years ago through a preschool and then moving to FCPS as a SEIA. She came into our school age program to be be a one on one special ed. instructor. She is certified is preschool and school age.
Julie has four amazing grandchildren that she loves spending time with. She loves to play bingo, bake, swim, relax on the beach, and enjoy her favorite snack of pistachio ice cream.

Amanda has amazing friends and family members that allow her to create meaningful connections and understanding of others. She loves to be creative by exploring through reading, writing, and art. She loves to be outdoors; as well as, caring for animals.

Alyssa has a free spirit that allows her to make the most out of life. Every Sunday, you can find her hiking on a good trail. She loves to get lost in a great book, but truly enjoy exploring nature on her free time.

Terry is a retiree from Fort Detrick who now has worked in child care for several years. She is certified in school age.
Terry has six children, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She loves to go to the beach and lounge in the pool, but in between those free moments she can be found watching the grandkids at all their sporting events.

Sarah worked in child care for many years before joining the FCPS team. She started as a special education instructional assistant at FCPS and is now a Kindergarten teacher. She graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor's degree. She is now pursuing her Master's degree at GCU for special education.
Sarah has two beautiful children that we loves spending time with. Her oldest is attending FCC and her youngest keeps her bust with his love for the marching band. Her and her kids love to take new adventures together.
